Over the years I've helped tens of thousands of students get ham radio licenses and upgrades. Here are some things I've learned along the way. There seems to be a minimum threshold, typically around minutes of study per day depending on your memory , at which the rate of forgetting things is equal to the rate of relearning things, and students stop making forward progress in the courses. You're going to forget things you learned weeks or months in advance, but you will remember a surprising amount of the material you see in the last couple of days.
Finding Books and Study Materials for the Theory Exam
Only those questions that are found in the pool are permitted to be used on exams. The question pools are publicly available, and you can access them directly on the web. The questions are prepared and approved for use by a national committee made up of representatives from all the VECs, or Volunteer Examiner Coordinators, nationwide. If you do not already have this plug-in on your system, it is available for free via download. You can, of course, print the questions via your local printer for later use.
